Find the Perfect Color

If you are a bit....well, color challenged....here are two excellent tools to add to your arsenal.

http://0to255.com/

0to255 is a free online tool that displays variations of any color. Simply pick the color that you want to start with and the display gives you a range of colors from light to dark using an interval optimized for web design.

[The Back Story: I had a client who wanted a "light red" color but didn't want pink! So I sent her to 0 to 255 and suggested that she pick the color she liked. After seeing that light red was indeed pink, she decided to change her color scheme. This saved a lot of time since we didn't have to go back and forth to find the right color palette for her project.]

Color Palette Generator

Color Palette Generator is a free online tool that is creates a perfect color palette from any image. Simply enter the URL of an image to get a color palette that matches the image. This is very useful for coming up with a website color palette that matches your image.

[The Back Story: A customer couldn't make up his mind between two templates. He did have an image he wanted incorporated, but just couldn't decide which template would look the best. I had him upload his image to Color Palette Generator and then compare the generated color schemes to the two templates. This helped him pick a template and he avoided the extra costs of having me change all of the template colors.]

Enjoy!
